At some point after cataract surgery most people develop scar tissue that grows on the back of the intraocular lens implant. This is called a “secondary cataract” or “posterior capsule opacification”. Luckily you do not need another operation to remove this scar tissue, it can be taken care of in office with a YAG laser.

This non-invasive procedure requires dilation of the pupil and takes only a few minutes. Vision is restored quickly after and the scar tissue does not reoccur.
